Season 2 episode 2 is almost nothing but misery and anguish#Helena by Nickle Creek does not quite fit the comic's vibe but it is absolutely a Xue Yang song so I linked it.#The change from “Helena don't walk away...(gentle)” to “HELENA. DON'T WALK AWAY (threat)” is fantastic.#And “Don't waste your pretty sympathy - I'll always be just fine”. Xue Yang core.#Okay now for the real meat. Disclaimer first: *I really like XY.* I think he's a great character. I think his actions consistently-#come from a place of deep trauma. While his reactions and actions put him in a villainous role he is still human about his hurt#and what I'm about to say is NOT intended to be a statement of causality or villianize a group of misunderstood people.#So with that said...Man oh man does Xue Yang have a lot of BPD traits. More that just 'character who is chronically manipulative'.#The impulsivity and emotional reactions and seeking stability makes him feel like he needs that control. What other choice is there?#The part that really gets me is how he *wants* to be safe and happy. But his past experiences tell him how thats impossible#He's the kind of person who goes 'if you don't like me then you better hate me for something substantial". All (pos) or All (neg)#''Love me entirely or Hate me. But don't you dare leave me or forget about me.''#Not at all comfortable saying 'BPD coded'. Im not a psychiatrist. Just that he has TRAITS. The more I think about Carla the worse it all feels. RTD did a Racism For Idiots episode and that's cool, but did anyone look over the optics of not only Ruby calling her bio mom her "real" mom in front of Carla, but sitting next to her instead of between her two moms (as in, near Carla)? How many people looked at the part where Carla without Ruby states that she only keeps kids for the money and went "hmm yeah that seems fine," like. I've watched enough British TV to know there's a huge fucking blind spot with them as a whole re racism, especially with regard to black people, but what the fuck. It tastes nasty. And it could have been solved so, so easily by acknowledging - reinforcing - that Carla is Ruby's mother. A large portion of the time we got with Carla wasn't even real, and those times were super shitty.

it's been a while since i tried looking, but i did hear that something like this happens last year and over time started to think, "was it a fluke?" bc no one posted footage or caps of it then, and i aimed for a completionist run in my first playthrough. turns out it's real! and definitely shines a new light on a character that, for most other types of playthroughs, will not give this much emotion! Started writing a fic back in early October and had to abandon it for a while due to IRL situations. But I've started working on it again little by little, and I am so excited to eventually share it with my mutuals and followers. I hope you guys enjoy it (I am trying my best to get it done)!
TBH my only motivation anymore is thinking about my friends having a good time reading it when it's finally posted (I love all of you very much). I cannot wait for all of these ideas to be fleshed-out on paper at last.

I recently began to think. What made me like bigger people? Especially what character? Who was that awakened this in me? Well, yesterday I watched Treasure Planet because it was one of my favorite animated movies when I was a kid and I felt nostalgic. That’s when I realized…It was this guy.
I HAD A HUGE CRUSH ON HIM AS A KID! It was weird, but I was a weird kid anyway. Plus his personality was *chef kiss* I loved it, I can’t help it. I just learned a few days ago that there could have been a second part of the movie but they canceled it. And oh boy I was so sad about it. And John was supposed to have a love story, AND OH MY GOD, That made me even more sad. Soooo I might draw him 👀 I feel like I have the mood to draw more again. It's absolutely a me thing, probably, but people who say that they hate an author and have the time to reiterate it endlessly but continues to support their work- without ever crediting the good part of the writing that makes them a fan to begin with- irks me so goddamn much.
An author and their work is very intrinsically tied together. They write their beliefs of the world in the text, their sociopolitical stance practically bleeds out from the pages. Of course this isn't the case when you're making a comic or book/any form of media for the sake of it being disturbing, but the point is, I need people to understand that an artist's work is an extension of themselves and you need to respect that especially if it's a work that you love and connect with.
#as someone who's work got toyed with like its nobody's business I need to emphasize on the importance of-#an artist's work that they give time and effort into sharing. HEAVY EMPHASIS ON EFFORT.#this comes from a place of “what. so an artist's property means nothing if it becomes too popular?” that spiraled and so i needed to vent#this is a one piece blog and maybe im talking about Oda and fans of his work but its really every damn piece of media you choose to consume#“i hate this author & how they portray this” and you'd make paragraphs of criticism (which is incredibly valid!) but in the same discussion#i seldom see “this was done well” “this scene was incredible” being attributed/credited as being due to the author's effort and creativity#if you hate the way it was done then its the authors fault but if you love it then you're not giving them praises for it#< something like that#rambles#this is my take on a select few fans mind you#i just hate it when people call someone stupid and still have the gal to say oh i love the work but not the “stupid” person behind it#be more empathetic. seriously#anyways !!respect an artist's work!! thats *their* property and *their* time and effort and if you hate it so much-#then don't engage with it. simple as.

okay look. I have clear favoritism to outsiders ff to anime ff for several (albeit possibly nonsensical, purely sentimental) reasons, but I will say this one jjk fic absolutely captivated me and I think if I wanted to I could fill pages with notes and tears. head in my hands absolutely life changing. I didn't even forget the title after months
I feel like I'm gushing incredibly hard over this but I truly do feel it's a wonderful look into toji's and megumi's characters and the events preceding the former's death. It undeniably solidified him as my favorite character
in short I desperately needed fushiguro content a few months ago and immediately got my heart and mind torn to shreds by this and NEVER forgot. 10/10 highly recommend!
